Ragtime- Hangar Theatre, Ithaca, NY, Summer 2024
This production was first built and performed at Flint Repertory Theatre in Flint, MI, during their 2023 season. After closing and striking the Flint production, the Hangar decided to remount it during their 2024 season, with the same director and designers, but a different cast and production crew. I received about half of the props from its first iteration, and built or bought the other half. I was a one person crew, with approximately 3 weeks of build and tech time, and a budget of $1500.

The pre-production process for this show was a lot different than anything I had worked on before. Rather than working directly from the script, I used the script, the paperwork provided from the team at FRT, and the boxes of items shipped to the theatre. I worked together with the director, designer and Stage Management team to determine how this production would differ from its previous iteration, and built, added and changed props as we saw fit.
